Hope you all had a great weekend and  a Happy MLK day!

This weekend my girl, Spence, came into town and we started it off right with a trip to the Tipsy Pig for dinner! Its a new-ish restaurant in the Marina district and Aaryn happened to have just started working there. It is a really cute restaurant with an old time pub feel. The menu is comfort food, not really a healthy thing on it but we weren’t there for healthy. We started with the fried brussel sprouts, they were delicious and after everyone was being polite passing them around the table, the 5 of us were fighting for the remaining pieces like children!

I ordered the ribs, which Aaryn had been raving about all week, they came with kale (my favorite green!) and cheddar grits. I had never had grits before and we had a fellow Louisianan gracing our presence who said they weren’t exactly like they serve at home but they were damn good. The ribs fell off the bone and were smothered in the most flavorful sauce that was more homey and sweet than bbq-ish which I was totally into! Ty got the fried chicken, shocker and Linds had a burger, all had great reviews!

On our way out there had been a doorman addition to the place and Linds and I couldn’t resist taking a photo with him, it was the cowboy hat, can you blame us?
